Mindfulness & Relationships Talks Plus AGM Branch Event

NAS Greenwich is hosting a speaker event 16th November 11am-1pm, highlighting a unique personal perspective on autism and mindfulness – delivered by Sian Hutchings, a speaker, trainer and mentor on this fascinating subject. This will benefit both autistic young people and adults, as well as parents, carers and professionals working with them.

Sian is a 25-year-old public speaker who is on the autistic spectrum, having been diagnosed 17 years ago. She also has ADHD, Dyspraxia and is dyslexic.

In her words: “I offer this personal perspective in a unique presentation which I believe may be both informative and entertaining for your members, professionals, families, carers and people on the autistic spectrum, which I deliver to organisations, Universities and support groups nationwide.”

She gives an amazing and inspiring insight into ASD & ADHD with her lived experiences. She has spoken at various events including school staff inset days and student assemblies , college staff & students world autism awareness weeks , university staff & students on world autism awareness weeks and various organisations such as The EBP in Lincoln training NCS Mentors before they go on the NCS programme to help and understand a better working relationship between the mentor and the young person with Autism on the NCS programme .

Sian has recently been appointed as an NCS ambassador in her local area based in Lincoln Lincolnshire and surrounding areas , from August 2017 onwards , representing The EBP and NCS within their local communities, this includes supporting EBP staff in attending events, promoting the NCS programme to young people, encouraging expressions of interest and Sign Up’s to the programme.

Sian has spoken at the National Autistic Society branches including training NAS volunteers speaking at ASD support groups around the country speaking to parents and carers of autistic children young people and adults. She is an Experienced Public Speaker with a demonstrated history of working in the public relations and communications industry. Skilled in Marketing & Advertising, Strategic Planning, Microsoft Office, Photography , Artist , Graphic Design, and Social Media. Strong media and communication professional .

Her talk will be followed by another autistic perspective on relationships by our own Dan Smith. Dan manages both our Autism Hub and Pub Group, as well as serves on our branch committee.

Both speakers will follow a brief annual general meeting of the NAS Greenwich branch to vote on chair and treasurer, report on plans and get your views on what you’d like to see more of. Refreshments will be served.

The date is 16th November, 11am-1pm. The venue is the Greenwich Carers Centre, The Stables, 76 Hornfair Road, Charlton SE7 7BD (Northwest room, where we host the monthly Autism Hub later in that afternoon at 2pm).
